5201

Error 5201 - High pressure sensor (63HS) detects low pressure.

Mitsubishi Electric · PWFY Air Conditioners

What does 5201 mean?

The unit's high pressure sensor (63HS) is detecting a pressure of 0.098MPa (14psi) or less during operation. This triggers an error stop and an anti-restart mode to protect the system.

Common Causes

  • Faulty high pressure sensor (63HS)
  • Pressure drop due to a refrigerant leak
  • Damaged wiring (torn coating, disconnected wire) or poor connector contact for the sensor
  • High pressure sensor input circuit failure on the control board

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Carefully inspect the wiring for the high pressure sensor (63HS) for any signs of torn coating, disconnections, or loose contact pins.

  2. 2

Ensure the connector for the 63HS sensor is securely attached.

  3. 3

Visually check for any signs of refrigerant leaks around the unit and its piping.

  4. 4

If no visible wiring issues or leaks are found, a qualified technician should assess the high pressure sensor itself for functionality.

  5. 5

If a refrigerant leak is suspected or detected, professional service is required to repair the leak and properly recharge the system.
