Zaptec · Pro

What does Not Online mean?

The Zaptec App or Portal reports that the charging station is not online, meaning it cannot establish a connection to the internet via 4G, PLC (Power Line Communication), or WiFi.

Common Causes

  • Inadequate GSM network coverage (for 4G)
  • 4G not activated on the charging station (for 4G)
  • Active firewall on the network router/modem (for PLC/WiFi)
  • Internet connection not working (for PLC/WiFi)
  • Charging station not encrypted with the associated PLC module (for PLC)
  • PLC not installed on the same L1 and N circuit as the charging station(s) (for PLC)
  • Incorrect WiFi SSID or password, or WiFi access point not 2.4 GHz/unsupported channels (for WiFi)

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

For 4G: Check local GSM network coverage and ensure 4G is activated for the charging station.

  2. 2

For PLC/WiFi: Check your router/modem for an active firewall that might be blocking the connection to the Zaptec cloud services.

  3. 3

For PLC/WiFi: Verify that your internet connection is working by connecting a computer or phone directly to your router or WiFi network.

  4. 4

For WiFi: Ensure the WiFi access point uses 2.4 GHz (5 GHz is not supported) and operates on channels between 1 and 11 (channels 12 and higher are not supported).

  5. 5

For WiFi: If your network name (SSID) is hidden, manually enter the SSID and password using the 'Other' option in the network list.

  6. 6

For PLC: Ensure the PLC module is encrypted with the charging station and installed on the same L1 and N circuit as your charging station(s).
